Vakar vakare pribaigiau šią 671 puslapio storumo knygą.
Kaip ir kituose Murakami kūriniuose, čia pasirodė vyras (Toru Okada), kurį paliko žmona. Dėl to net domėjausi, ar pats Murakami nėra išsiskyręs, bet paaiškėjo, kad ne. Taigi, čia galima rasti visko, kas priklauso ponui Murakamiui: fantastikos, klaidžių labirintų ir ausų :)
Knyga nepatiko man taip, kaip tikėjausi, tačiau ir nenuvylė. Buvo įdomu skaityti, kaip Toru klajoja ieškodamas atsakymų į įvairius klausimus, kaip bando susieti vienus įvykius su kitais. Skaityti nebuvo lengva. Būtent šiame kūrinyje ypač daug dėmesio buvo skirta Japonijos istorijai, tad galbūt būtų buvę paprasčiau, jeigu būčiau kažkiek su ja susipažinusi. Nors už tą pažindinimą pliusą galiu dėti būtent Murakami knygoms :)
Knygoje man patiko tai, kad Toru kaip mąstymo vietą buvo pasirinkęs išdžiūvusį šulinį negyvenamame sklype. Nežinau kodėl man tai patiko, tiesą sakant. Galbūt įdomu tai, kad tai gana netradiciška. Visiškoje tamsoje, labai ribotoje erdvėje Toru svarsto esminius klausimus, šulinys net yra magiška pertvara tarp tikrojo pasaulio ir kažkokio kito (mat galima (retai!) per šulinio sieną pereiti į viešbučio kambarį nr. 208).
Apskritai kūriniui duodu 9 balus. Neužbūrė taip, kaip kitos šio rašytojo knygos, o kai kur tie pasakojimai buvo gal net nuobodoki.
